I am a professor for theoretical ecology at the University of Regensburg (group page, personal professional homepage). My main interest are the mechanisms that determine ecosystem functions and diversity patterns, at the community scale as well as at biogeographical and evolutionary scales; Machine learning and its relation to (Bayesian) statistical methodology, conservation biology and ecological theory in general. To find out more about my work, have a look at my publications on google scholar and my teaching activities. Also, I blog at theoreticalecology, and tweet @florianhartig.
